Current Child Tax Credit (CTC) in June 2025
As per the official notice, in June 2025, the child tax credit can be received up to $2000 per child below 17 ( the child should have been under 17 at 31st December 2024). Even if some families do not owe any taxes to the government, they may also receive up to $1700 as this credit is partially refundable. The process of the CTC is overseen by the IRS.

- The maximum income for married couples is $400000, and for single filers is $200000.

If a person’s or a couple’s income is more than the threshold, the amount of the credit will be reduced by $50 for every $1000 above the limit.

- The child/children have a verified SSN
